What I love most about traveling in Asia is how often I’m surprised. There’s an extraordinary mix of old and new: monks on mopeds in Thailand, K-pop and neon just streets away from sacred temples in Seoul, centuries-old traditions woven into some of the most modern cities in the world.

It’s endlessly interesting to photograph, from the saturated colors and crowded markets of Southeast Asia to the quiet details of Japan and the energy of South Korea. And the variety is enormous. Every country seems to offer a completely different palette, rhythm and way of seeing the world.
