NORTH AMERICA

Perhaps I underestimate North America because I’m from here. But traveling closer to home has reminded me again and again just how extraordinary the U.S. and Canada can be. I have a particular love affair with Canada, especially the small communities scattered along the Atlantic coast, but I’m equally drawn to the wild beauty of the Pacific Northwest. This continent is filled with dazzling national parks and the enormous diversity of landscapes and people across the continent.

Photographing North America reminds me to look at familiar places with fresh eyes. Adventure, discovery and surprise don’t always require crossing an ocean. Sometimes they’re waiting much closer to home.
