I went to Australia expecting to be dazzled by the icons – Sydney Harbour, the Opera House, those enormous Australian skies. And I was. But it was the wild places that stole my heart, especially the creatures that live there.

Australia is a joy to photograph because the wildlife feels so distinctly its own: kangaroos and wallabies, koalas tucked into eucalyptus trees, brilliantly colored birds and an entirely different world beneath the water. I can’t wait to explore so much more of this vast and intriguing country, along with more of New Zealand and the South Pacific.
